Hartland Cross Country and Summer Running update

5/28/2020

Dear Runners and Parents,

Hello Hartland Cross Country family, I hope you are doing well and staying healthy.  This summer and fall will be drastically different that any we have ever had, but I know we will work together to make this season a success.   There are still many unknowns, but our goal is to train for a full season.  If more information comes out that changes the goals we will update these goals at that time.

Communication
I will be sending emails most weeks, updating the mileage log, and sending text messages throughout the summer.  Please make sure you are receiving both text messages and emails.  Use the link below to sign up for emails and the info to sign-up for text messages. Please let me know if you would like to be removed from this distribution list.

Summer running starting Monday June 1st
We will start our summer running program this Monday June 1st.  Unfortunately, at this moment all running must be done on your own.  If you choose to run with a teammate or two please do it with all social distancing rules in mind.   I am not laying out distances this week, but starting June 8th you can refer to the summer running plan to help you with your mileage.  Also, we will start logging mileage next week.  Please use the links below to help you plan your runs.

When can we run together again? and What will it look like?
We don't know the answer to these questions, but we know that the Governor's stay home, stay safe order will hopefully be lifted on June 15th and we can run together.  We know that the MHSAA is releasing information on summer practice tomorrow May 29th and the NFHS has released a guide for reopening athletic activities.  Once Hartland has reviewed all of the information from the Governor, the MHSAA, and the Livingston County Health Department along with the NFHS recommendations we will create a plan for group running and activities.  We hope that we can create a plan over the first two weeks of June and be ready to go when the stay home, stay safe order is lifted.

As always please let me know if you have any questions,
Matt Gutteridge
